Tunisia submitted a request to hold a session of the Security Council, on Monday, to discuss the practices of the occupation authorities in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on its official page, on Saturday, that the request came after the violations committed by the occupation forces in the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and their attacks on the Palestinians and their insistence on their expansionist policies of demolishing and extracting homes, displacing Palestinian families, and obliterating the historical and cultural identity of the holy city.
The ministry explained that the request came in coordination with the Palestinian side, and is supported by China, the current chair of the Council, and Norway, Ireland, Vietnam, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Niger, which are members of the Security Council.
It is worth noting that Al-Aqsa Mosque has witnessed clashes in Al Quds between the Israeli occupation authorities and Palestinian worshipers since Friday, which resulted in the injury of dozens of Palestinian citizens, against the background of the displacement attempts that occur to the residents of the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Al Quds.
