The director of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Omar Al-Kiswani, said on Monday that more than 300 people were wounded during the confrontations in the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the vicinity of Alquds with the Zionist occupation forces.
Al-Kiswani explained – in a statement to the Jordanian International Al Haqiqa Agency – that the situation in the courtyards of the mosque has turned into a “battlefield” with the Zionist occupation soldiers who fire rubber bullets, tear gas and stun grenades at the worshipers inside the courtyards of Al-Aqsa.
Al-Kiswani appealed to Arab and Islamic countries and the world to intervene. To stop the attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the need to hold the occupation forces accountable for these violations in the holy month of Ramadan.
Al-Kiswani stated that he was injured after receiving a baton blow on his hand, when he entered the rescue of a journalist “whose name was not mentioned”, who was attacked by the occupation army, stressing that the confrontations are still continuing.
Al-Kiswani added that the occupation soldiers were on the roof of the Dome of the Rock, and at the gates of the Al-Qibli Mosque and Al-Marwani. They stormed the clinic and the acoustics room in the Al-Qibli Mosque, and the worshipers took cover in the Dome of the Rock.
In a related context, the Palestine Red Crescent Authority announced – in a statement – that more than 215 people were injured; As a result of the Israeli attacks on Palestinian worshipers in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque and its environs in occupied Alquds.
