Le Monde: Haftar lost control of his followers from the Chadian opposition during the attack on Déby.

The French newspaper “Le Monde” said on Saturday that Paris aimed to give Haftar the opportunity from behind the guise of fighting terrorism, and that the recent Chadian unrest came against Paris’ expectations, and it became clear that relying on Haftar was a matter of deception.

The newspaper confirmed – according to what was published on its website – that it was not hidden from anyone that France had invested heavily in Haftar, who had installed himself as the head of the so-called “Libyan National Army”, and that Haftar was a strategic bet for Paris.

“Le Monde” indicated that Haftar’s inability to prevent his Chadian followers from attacking Chadian President Deby revealed a lot about the reality of his control over southern Libya.

It is worth noting that the Libyan army forces took control of “Javelin” missiles during the operation to liberate Gharyan in June 2019, which France provided for Haftar during his aggression on Tripoli.
