Tunisia imposes a complete lockdown for a week, starting from Sunday.

On Friday, the Tunisian government decided to impose a complete lockdown in the country for the entire week of Eid al-Fitr. To combat the resurgence of the Corona virus.

Tunisian Prime Minister Hicham El Mechichi said in a press conference, reported by the French Press Agency, “AFP” that approving the complete lockdown from 9 to 16 May is a preventive measure, warning of the collapse of the health and psychological sector for doctors in the country.

For her part, Tunisian government spokeswoman Hasna Ben Slimane said that celebrations and gatherings will be banned throughout the next week, starting from Sunday, and that leaving homes will not be allowed except for necessities.

It is worth noting that, since the beginning of April, Tunisia has recorded an increase in the number of Coronavirus infections, with dozens of deaths and more than a thousand infections per day, while the authorities recorded 11,208 deaths from the epidemic and more than 317 thousand cases.
