Turkish Defense Minister: Greece’s efforts to nullify the border demarcation agreement concluded with Libya are futile.

Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said Tuesday, “We are doing everything we can to restore normal life in Libya and provide training, advice and assistance to Libyans.”

Akar added, in a statement by the Turkish Ministry of Defense, that his country is continuing its activities to explore for energy sources in the eastern Mediterranean in accordance with the maritime border agreement signed with Libya.

“Akar” confirmed that Greece’s efforts to nullify the border demarcation agreement concluded with Libya are futile, explaining that his country supports solving problems on the basis of international law and dialogue in a peaceful manner, according to what the Russian “Sputnik” agency reported.

It is worth noting that a Turkish delegation, which included the foreign and defense ministers, the army chief of staff, and the head of the intelligence service, Hakan Fidan, visited Tripoli on Monday, in the first visit of a Turkish delegation at this level, after the national unity government was approved last March.
