The Supreme Council of the State calls on the Parliament to abide by the text of Article 15 of the Political Agreement.

The Supreme Council of State called on the Presidency of the Council of Representatives to abide by the provisions of Article 15 of the Political Agreement regarding consultations between the two chambers regarding the appointment of sovereign positions.

In a letter addressed to the Presidency of the Council of Representatives, the House delivered on Tuesday the conclusion of the Supreme Judicial Council at its meeting on April 12th, regarding the position of the Attorney General.

In its speech, the Council also called on the General Assembly of the Supreme Court to nominate a chairman, in accordance with the Judicial Law, stressing the role of the Parliament and the Supreme Council of the State, which is limited to accepting or rejecting these nominations, according to the text of the speech.

It is worth noting that the Speaker of Parliament, Agila Saleh, issued, last March, a decision to form a committee to receive the files of candidates to hold the sovereign positions in the country, in violation of the two councils’ agreement in the political agreement signed in Skhirat, Morocco.
