Member of the Supreme Council of State: There are no indications of starting preparations for the elections.

Commenting on the recent Security Council resolutions, Adel Karmous, a member of the Supreme Council of State, said Saturday, “The momentum of the statements and the amount of decisions that we were following during the inauguration of the GNA, we see now being repeated with the NUG.”

Karmous added, in a statement to Arraed, that reality contradicts what we hear of propaganda and slogans supporting the government to conduct the scheduled merits, on top of which are the elections, which until this moment there is no indication of beginning to prepare for holding them – according to him -.

The council member affirmed that since the signing of the Skhirat Agreement and the previous government’s assumption of its duties, these international support decisions have been repeated, for the sake of Libya’s stability, but “unfortunately the reality was otherwise,” indicating that the countries intervening in the Libyan affair were not covered by any sanctions nor whoever obstructed the resolutions of UN, and that the world did not respond to the government’s call for support in repelling the attack on the capital in the past.

It is worth noting that the Security Council threatened, on Friday, anyone who obstructs or undermines the political transition in Libya or threatens peace and stability in Libya by exposing them to travel ban and asset freeze measures
