The former Chief of Staff of the Turkish Naval Forces, Jihad Yaji, said, Wednesday, that the Turkish-Libyan maritime border demarcation agreement was a strategic choice by the politicians of the two countries, highlighting the gains and losses of Libya, if it signed an agreement to demarcate the maritime borders with Greece, just as it did with Turkey, Late 2019.
Yaji explained, during an interview with Al-Jazeera Mubasher channel, that this agreement granted Libya 39 thousand kilometers of water, in addition to 4 Greek islands, adding that if Libya had signed the agreement with Greece, it would not have obtained this large water distance, pointing to That Greece wants to plunder the water areas of Libya, Egypt and the Arab countries.
It is worth noting that Libya signed in November 2019 the Turkish-Libyan maritime border demarcation agreement, and the Turkish parliament ratified the agreement in December 2019.
