A wrong maneuver by the captain of the ship “Evergreen” led to its deviation badly before its stranding.

On Friday, two officials in the rescue team of the Suez Canal Authority revealed to the Italian “Nova” news agency that the captain of the ship “Evergreen” had made a wrong maneuver that led to the ship’s deviation severely before it got off the navigation course of the Suez Canal.

The two officials added that the wrong maneuver coincided with the dust storm and strong winds, which all led to the loss of visibility and the ship stranding, but the weather factors were not fully responsible for the accident.

It is noteworthy that the ship “Ever Geffen” ran aground at the southern entrance to the Suez Canal. Last Monday, the rescue teams of the Suez Canal succeeded in re-floating the giant vessel, which is 400 meters in length and 59 meters in width, with a total load of 224 thousand tons.
