The UN mission renews their support for holding the elections on the specified date.

The UN envoy to Libya, Jan Kubis, during his meeting with the President of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Al-Manifi, and his two deputies renewed the UN support for the political solution reached by the Geneva dialogues to reach fair elections on December 24 of this year.

On Monday, Kubis stressed support for all efforts to unify all sovereign institutions and the JMC 5 + 5 path, according to – the official page of the President of the Presidential Council -.

For his part, Al-Manifi emphasized the commitment of the new executive authority to the Geneva outcomes, in terms of supporting comprehensive national reconciliation, building solid foundations and striving to unify all institutions, and supporting the United Nations tracks in following up the work of the 5 + 5 Committee.

It is worth noting that the US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, stressed in a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Dbaiba, on Monday, the need to ensure that free, fair and credible elections are held on December 24, 2021.
