The European Union stresses the need for foreign fighters and mercenaries to leave Libya.

The representative of the European Union’s foreign and security policy, Josep Borrell, stressed the need for foreign fighters and mercenaries to leave Libya.

Borrell renewed, during a press conference held at the headquarters of Operation Irini in the Italian capital, Rome, on Thursday, the call to respect the arms embargo imposed by the United Nations on Libya.

It is worth noting that, in May 2020, the European Union launched a process in the Mediterranean, which it called “Irini ” , with the aim of supporting the arms embargo imposed on Libya.
