The UN welcomes the granting of confidence to the government and hopes to reach the elections scheduled for next December.

On Wednesday, the President of the United Nations General Assembly, Volkan Bozkir, welcomed the parliament’s granting of confidence to the designated government.

Bozkir expressed, through his Twitter account, his hope that granting confidence to the “Dbaiba” government would help bridge divisions and put Libya on a steady path to the elections scheduled for next December.

The House of Representatives granted confidence to the new government, during a session in Sirte, with 132 votes out of 133 deputies who attended the session.
