The US embassy said, on Sunday, that Washington is angry at the attack on Interior Minister Fathi Bashagha, while returning to his residence in the Janzour area.
The embassy added that Ambassador “Richard Norland” spoke with Bashagha by phone, stressing that the minister’s focus on ending the influence of rogue militias enjoys Washington’s full support, calling for a speedy investigation, to bring those responsible to justice.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Interior announced that its Minister Fathi Bashagha had been subjected to an assassination attempt while he was returning to his residence in Janzour, and that he is in good health.
