Biden extends the sanctions imposed on the Gaddafi family.

US President “Joe Biden” extended the sanctions imposed on the sons and family of Muammar Gaddafi for an additional year, explaining that these measures are needed to protect against the transfer of assets and other violations committed by members of the Gaddafi family and their partners to obstruct the Libyan national reconciliation.

Biden said in – a message to the US Congress – Friday, that these people have taken extreme measures against the people of Libya, and have used weapons of war, mercenaries and brutal violence against unarmed civilians, and there is a grave risk of misappropriation of the Libyan state’s assets by Gaddafi, members of his government or members of the family or close partners – he said.

It is worth noting that the former President of the United States of America “Barack Obama” issued a resolution on February 25, 2011 to impose a state of emergency on Libya to confront the exceptional threat posed by Muammar Gaddafi, his government and those close to him, to national security and US foreign policy.
