Where will the parliament session be held to grant confidence to the national unity government?

The representatives of the Tobruk House of Representatives, Fawzi Al-Nuwairi and Hamid Hauma, called in a statement on Wednesday, to hold a session of the House of Representatives with a full quorum in one of the Libyan cities to be determined by the 5 + 5 committee. The statement indicated that the session comes due to the urgent need to unify the parliament and to give confidence to the government of national unity to be presented within 14 days, and for the Speaker of Tobruk Parliament who hijacked the parliament’s decision.

The Tripoli Council of Representatives explained that the divergence in the calls of the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Tobruk, Aqila Saleh, the call of his two deputies, Al-Nuwairi and Hauma, and the call of the Speaker in Tripoli to hold a session of the Council, which resulted in the dispersion of the parliament’s decision and the disruption of its work, which forced a decision by the majority of its members to hold a session chaired by the eldest or those who decide by their will who to chair the session until the election of a presidency office that can lead the council to fulfill the national obligations and end the last transitional phase on time, according to the Tripoli MPs’ statement.

The council indicated that the actual quorum for holding a valid session is 90, after the actual number of deputies became 178 after deaths, withdrawals and resignations of a number of parliament members.
