Samira Al-Ezabi, spokesman for the Justice and Construction Party, said that the elections will be held as scheduled on December 24; It is a collective challenge for all parties of the dialogue, and is documented in its final and official outcomes and is present in the candidates’ obligations.
Al-Ezabi explained – in a televised interview – on Wednesday, that the party, as a supporter of the dialogue, and for its outputs, we believe that it is necessary for everyone to cooperate in order to fulfill this commitment, and its first steps are to support the new executive authority and accelerate its adoption. To enable it to devote itself to its basic tasks, pointing out that its failure will be a collective failure of all Libyans and will negatively affect the terms and conditions for organizing these elections.
Al-Ezabi added that helping and supporting this government in this mission and the task of organizing the elections is primarily achieved with the cooperation of all the parties concerned, including the constitutional and legal basis on which these elections will be based, as well as the implementation of the outcomes of the military dialogue that lead to the extension of security and facilitate the return of the displaced, as well as creating a climate for reconciliation. It allows for a structured and sound competitive process.
It is worth noting that the Geneva Political Dialogue Forum chose last Friday, the list of candidates, Mohammed Al-Manaifi as Chairman of the Presidential Council, and Abdullah Al-Lafi, Musa Al-Koni as members and Abdulhamid Dbaiba as Prime Minister with 39 votes, and the Justice and Construction Party issued a statement welcoming this choice.
