The final round of the constitutional track begins in Hurghada … and the UN envoy calls for positive results so that the political and military tracks are not affected.

The third and final round of the constitutional process began in Hurghada, on Tuesday, in the presence of the Constitutional Committee formed from the House of Representatives and the Supreme State Council, the head of the Supreme National Electoral Commission , Imad al-Sayeh, and the head of the Egyptian National Committee on Libyan Affairs, Minister Abbas Kamel, and the new head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya “Jan Kubis “.

In his first video appearance during the session, Jan Kubis stressed the need for positive results from Hurghada, so that the rest of the political and military tracks would not be affected.

During their speeches, a number of participants emphasized the necessity of conducting a referendum on the constitution with the amendment of Article 6 by adopting the system of three centers in the 50 + 1 system, abolishing Article 7, and fortifying the legal centers that will result from this referendum by stopping consideration of appeals related to the referendum law, and the legality of issuing a draft constitution, and the tenth amendment to the Constitutional Declaration, issued in November of 2018, according to Arabic 21 website.

The participants agreed to complete their discussions from 9 to 11 February and to invite the Supreme Electoral Commission to attend and participate in the discussions, leading to setting the date of the referendum and the associated procedures, and to submit what is agreed upon to the State’s Supreme Council and the House of Representatives and the United Nations Mission, to activate it and provide support for the referendum.
