On the day of endorsement of the lists … preparations at the political dialogue forum for electing the executive authority on Friday.

Libyans are just around the corner from reaching a new government that may end the institutional division and work to unify state institutions and departments after more than 6 years of division, following the completion of listening to candidates for the new executive authority over the previous days of the Geneva Dialogue Forum.

Listening to the candidates

The first two days of the Geneva Political Dialogue Forum, in which the candidates for the presidency of the 24th Presidential Council presented their electoral program before the members the dialogue Committee in Geneva, trying to answer questions that were asked to them regarding their vision of a path for national reconciliation and the work of the presidency, in addition to their pledge to organize elections.

In the same context, the listening of the 21 candidates for the post of Prime Minister were completed yesterday, where they presented their electoral programs, pledging to conduct elections and resolve the many crises that the street in Libya is experiencing, most notably the electricity crises and the fight against Corona

Naming of lists

After the presidential candidates failed to pass through the electoral assembly system by obtaining 70% of the electoral votes for the candidates, the list mechanism was adopted, as it will be voted on in the first two rounds by 63% in the first and by 50 + 1in the second.

The UN mission confirmed, in a press statement today, that the members of the Dialogue Forum will vote on the lists that meet the recommendation requirements stipulated in the selection mechanism tomorrow, Friday, and that the deadline for receiving applications for the candidate lists will be Thursday at 10 pm Geneva time, without disclosing the list information.

Announcement of results

Therefore, it will be expected that the results of the vote will be announced tomorrow , and the naming of the president and members of the new Presidential Council, in addition to the prospective prime minister, according to what was agreed upon last November in the sessions of the Dialogue Forum in Tunis, as this government will be entrusted with working to hold the elections on December 24th, in addition to working to improve basic services for citizens.
