The Egyptian Foreign Ministry welcomes the agreement on the referendum on the draft constitution and looks forward to hosting the third and final round of the constitutional track.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry welcomed the findings of the Libyan parties; Concerning the referendum on the draft constitution, during the meeting of the Constitutional Track Committee for Dialogue hosted by the Egyptian city of Hurghada under the auspices of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry appreciated the efforts that led to the agreement to hold a referendum on the draft constitution, in preparation for the Libyan elections scheduled for December 24, 2021.

The Foreign Ministry affirmed its aspiration to host the third and final round of the constitutional track next February, in the presence of the High National Elections Commission in Libya to develop a road map for both the referendum and the elections.

It is worth noting that the Constitutional Committee ended, on Tuesday, its meeting in the Egyptian city of Hurghada, which lasted for 3 days, in which a preliminary agreement was reached on holding a referendum on the constitution and immunizing its results, in preparation for the elections next December
