The leaders and heads of the Gulf countries’ delegations, in the presence of the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad, in Al-Ula, Saudi Arabia, signed a statement of solidarity and stability, as part of their participation in the 41st session of the Gulf Cooperation Council summit.
The Gulf summit began in the presence of the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad, who was received by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman with a warm embrace and expressions of welcome.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman welcomed the efforts of the states of Kuwait and the United States to achieve reconciliation with Qatar, praising in his speech the late Sultan of Oman, Qaboos bin Said, and the late Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad, and their efforts to achieve Gulf reconciliation.
A statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated that Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry signed the statement of the Gulf Reconciliation Summit. For what the statement described as “facing the enormous challenges that the region is witnessing.”
The opening session of the summit was attended by the Emir of the State of Kuwait, Nawaf Al-Ahmad, Vice President of the UAE Mohammed bin Rashid, Crown Prince of Bahrain Prince Salman bin Hamad, and the Prime Minister of Omani Cabinet Affairs Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said
It is reported that Saudi Arabia announced yesterday that it will reopen its air, sea and land space with Qatar after it, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt imposed restrictions on Qatar since 2017, including closing its land and sea borders and airspace, and at the time the four countries demanded Doha meet 13 conditions to restore relations with it, including closing Al-Jazeera, and the sizing of military relations with Turkey.
