The International Follow-up Committee on Libya welcomes the progress made on the political track of the dialogue.

The International Follow-up Committee on Libya, emanating from the Berlin conference, welcomed the successful conclusion of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum in Tunisia, and the resulting roadmap for the preliminary stage of a political solution, paving the way for a process led and managed by Libyans towards holding presidential and parliamentary elections.

The committee called in a statement on Saturday, what it called “the stakeholders in Libya to support the outcomes of the political dialogue as a first step towards reshaping a unified and legitimate executive authority.”

The group affirmed that progress on the political track will enhance the implementation of the ceasefire agreement, ease recent tensions over the economic crisis and the equitable distribution of oil revenues.

It is noteworthy that the group that emerged from the Berlin conference, which was held on January 18, includes the United States of America, Egypt, the European Union, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Turkey, the UAE, the African Union and the Arab League, as well as the UN mission to Libya.
