On Sunday, nine human rights organizations called on the Attorney General to open an urgent criminal investigation into the involvement of some members participating in the political dialogue in Tunisia in receiving bribes to buy their votes for the benefit of some candidates for the government and the Presidential Council.
In a statement submitted to the Attorney General, the organizations requested the removal of the members who were proven to be involved in vote-buying, preventing them from running for any position in the government and the Presidential Council, and informing the public of the results.
The organizations called on the UN mission to disclose the results of the investigations that had begun to reveal the fact that some members received bribes, stressing that the investigation continues, in order to exclude them.
They said that without revealing the results of the investigations and excluding those involved, the results of the dialogue would not be acceptable to the Libyans, and this would have serious consequences.
It is worth noting that the United Nations Support Mission in Libya announced, last Wednesday, the opening of an investigation into the bribes given to some members participating in the Tunis dialogue, in favor of certain votes.
