Williams: Getting to election requires a new executive authority to unify the country.

The Acting Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Stephanie Williams, announced that reaching elections requires a new executive authority to unify the country, which means establishing a reformed new presidential council and an effective national unity government according to the outcomes of the Berlin Conference.

“Williams” added – in a press conference from Tunis – Friday, that the date for the national elections for Libya will be on December 24, according to the agreement of the members of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum in Tunis.

Williams stressed her lack of tolerance or understanding of factions and individuals in the East and West who are trying to impede progress and undermine the process, because what matters is to preserve their current privileges at the expense of the Libyan people – as she said –

It is worth noting that last Monday, the negotiations of the Libyan Dialogue Forum began in Tunis.
