The Human Rights Council recommends prosecuting the perpetrators of violations in Libya.

On Thursday, the 36th session of the Human Rights Council recommended the prosecution and punishment of perpetrators of human rights violations in Libya, and full cooperation with the international fact-finding mission.

The session, which was held in the Swiss capital, Geneva, also recommended an end to arbitrary detention, continuing efforts to support the transitional justice process, and taking steps towards an effective investigation of violations and bringing the perpetrators to justice.

The session renewed its recommendation to the countries of the world to devote social, economic and cultural rights to all Libyans, to promote gender equality, and to strengthen women’s empowerment programs in the economic and political fields.
