Britain, Germany, France and Italy welcome the outcomes of the 5 + 5 Joint Military Committee agreement.

On Friday, the governments of France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom welcomed the outcomes of the “5 + 5” Joint Military Committee meeting in Geneva, Switzerland, and the announcement by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya to launch the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum.

In a joint statement, the countries stressed their support for the UN mission to ensure an orderly transition to the institutional framework in the future, and to achieve positive outcomes for the political dialogue forum in Tunisia that would lead to holding national elections in the shortest possible time, in order to restore the sovereignty of Libya and the democratic legitimacy of Libyan institutions according to the Statement.

The joint statement of the states called on the Libyan parties to abide by their pledges and fully implement the agreement, and to take the next step in the Libyan dialogue through the Political Dialogue Forum in Tunis, in which the Libyans themselves agree on the future of state institutions and achieving security and stability.

It is worth noting that the two delegations of the 5 + 5 Joint Military Committee signed a ceasefire agreement sponsored by the United Nations Mission to Libya on October 23 in Geneva, Switzerland.
