Interior Minister Fathi Bashagha said Tuesday that the environment is now ready in Libya to announce a political agreement that brings together all Libyans, and that the results and outputs of the meetings abroad between the parties are the best proof of this.
Bashagha added during his meeting with the head of the European Union mission, “Jose Antonio”, that the Libyans are looking for a single political leadership that will lead the country to safety away from any local or provincial problems, and that Libya is looking forward to the support of the countries of the Union in all areas, especially service, according to the official page of the Ministry of Interior -.
In a related context, Bashagha stressed that the presence of “Wagner” mercenaries in the oil fields confused the political scene in the country, although we do not have any past or present hostility with Russia.
For his part, “Antonio” expressed his hope for the return of the control of affairs to the Libyans without any external interference, stressing that Libya is a country of security and a workplace for all Arab and foreign nationalities.
The two sides discussed the issue of illegal immigration, which has become a source of concern for all countries of the region, and the files of European-Libyan cooperation in all fields.
