Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Aboritta rejected the invitation to Morocco to participate in the “Berlin 2” conference on Libya, which was held on Monday, via video technology under the auspices of the United Nations, according to a Moroccan official, who refused to be named.
The official, in statements to the “Arab Post” website, suggested that the reason may be due to the exclusion of Morocco from participating in the Berlin Conference in its first edition last April, without the official giving further details.
In a related context, Aboritta expressed in a statement his hope for signing a Libyan agreement, which he described as historic, regarding the sovereign positions in the near future.
Aboritta emphasized that “the two parties of the dialogue are about to end and confirm the agreement to implement Article 15 of the Skhirat Agreement, which is one of the fundamental issues for unifying institutions.”
It is worth noting that the two delegations of the dialogue in Abo Zniqa confirmed in a statement, on Monday, that progress is being made to reach a historic agreement on sovereign positions, which will be soon in accordance with Article 15 of the Skhirat Agreement.
