The Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization “Jans Stoltenberg” appreciated the efforts made by Turkey and Greece to find a mechanism, to ensure preventing clashes and avoiding accidents in the Mediterranean, he affirmed that “Turkey is an important ally and the alliance is committed to its security.”
During a joint press conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, Stoltenberg expressed his hope that the differences between the allies would be resolved through negotiation, in a spirit of cooperation and under the umbrella of international law. According to the Italian agency (AKI).
It is reported that Stoltenberg will visit Greece tomorrow, to meet with senior officials there, and to discuss several topics, the most important of which is the tension between Athens and Ankara in the eastern Mediterranean and the mechanism for avoiding accidents.
