An international conference in Berlin on Libya tomorrow, Monday, without the participation of the Libyan parties.

An international conference on Libya, called by Germany, will start tomorrow, Monday, in the German capital Berlin, to accelerate efforts to achieve a ceasefire and push for a peaceful solution to the Libyan crisis.

The conference will be held via video circuits, with the participation of all the countries that attended the first Berlin summit last January, and the countries of the region without the participation of the Libyan parties, according to what was reported by “Arabi 21” website.

In a related context, Germany’s deputy delegate to the United Nations, Gunter Sauter, said that the upcoming conference comes at a sensitive time, amid the recent encouraging developments in Libya, hoping that the conference will issue a “strong message” to stop the continuous and flagrant violations of the arms embargo imposed on Libya since 2011, and strengthening the role of the United Nations as a central mediator in the political dialogue in Libya.

It is worth noting that the delegations of the House of Representatives and the Supreme Council of State confirmed, on Saturday, during the second round of dialogue in the Moroccan city of Bo Zniqa, the positive sessions and the continuation of the dialogue, until full agreement on the procedures related to Article 15 concerning sovereign positions.
