An investigation by “Middle East Eye” on Thursday, entitled “The fields of death in Tarhuna in Libya”, revealed some war crimes committed by Haftar’s militias, before their defeat by the Libyan army forces last June.
The investigation confirmed the discovery of 80 bodies exhumed from mass graves, of which 56 were found on the farm of the “Harouda” family, after digging only 20% of the area so far, indicating that the methods of burying the victims were different and hideous, including burying a person in his car with his hands tied to the wheel, according to what was reported by the site. “Arabi 21”.
The investigation added that the “horror stories” that the people of Tarhuna talk of their tragedy is unfortunate, and that every family must have their brothers, relatives or uncles disappeared, and hundreds of children have become orphans, indicating that after the liberation of the city from Haftar’s militias and the Al-Kani family, feelings of comfort prevail with the people.
In the investigation, it tells the facts of a painful incident of enforced disappearance and murder committed by the Al-Kani family against brothers and a close friend of the young man “Ahmed Saeed Abdel Hafeez” from the city’s residents and a woman named “Ghazala Wanis” 7 of her children were kidnapped by the sons of Alkani and another was kidnapped for his fight against ISIS in Sirte He said, “The prisoners used to go and not come back, and sometimes they never came back and we only heard the sounds of gunfire.” And another called “Tariq al-Jad Allah,” they shot him and the next day arrested 10 of his family.
It should be noted that the number of bodies found in Tarhuna and its surroundings reached 270, according to the latest statistics of the General Authority for Search and Identification of Missing people.
