Hawili: Canceling or freezing international agreements is the right of the next elected body, and Saleh’s statements are to satisfy Egypt.

Member of the Supreme Council of State, Abdul Qadir Hawili, said on Monday that the merit of considering international agreements with the Libyan state is the right of the next elected body after holding of legislative and presidential elections.

Hawili added that what the Speaker of the Tobruk House of Representatives, Aqeela Saleh, said about canceling the Turkish agreement is nothing but an attempt to satisfy the Egyptian regime.

Saleh had stated in an interview broadcast by Al-Arabiya television that once a new presidential council was agreed, he would demand the abolition of the Turkish agreement

It is worth noting that the final statement of the meeting in Montreux, Switzerland, on September 9th, mentioned the meeting’s agreement to postpone consideration of international agreements and treaties until after the preliminary stage.
