Demands for an investigation into the abduction of the civil activist “Rabai Alarabi ” during a protest in Benghazi.

The organizers of the “Movement to Save Libya from Corruption and Corrupt” demanded, on Sunday, an investigation into the circumstances of the kidnapping of the civil activist, “Rabai` Al-Arabi Al-Zawy” while he was in a demonstration in Benghazi.

The statement issued by the movement added that they had submitted a notification to the Ministry of Interior of the parallel government, and the family of the kidnapped person also submitted their complaint to the Al-Orouba police station in Benghazi. However, the competent authorities did not fulfill their duties, according to the statement.

The statement called on the offices of the Attorney General of the Benghazi Court of Appeal Scope Department and the public proscuter to urgently intervene to take legal action against the perpetrators of these crimes.

The movement indicated that what happened seriously indicates the inability of the security authorities to carry out their responsibilities, maintain security and protect lives.

The movement affirmed its adherence to the gains achieved by the Libyan people, the most important of which are the right to peaceful protest and freedom of opinion and expression.

It is worth noting that the security services in Benghazi had asked, on September 21, the protesters of the movement, to vacate the place after being unable to protect them.
