The American Washington Post said that international supporters of the Government of National Accord, especially Turkey and the United States, support the efforts of Interior Minister Fathi Bashagha in protecting the demonstrators against the violence they were subjected to.
The newspaper added, according to its official website, that international supporters also welcome Bashagha’s efforts to dismantle the militias in the capital, Tripoli, including those which the GNA relies on to secure Tripoli.
It is worth noting that the Italian newspaper “La Repubblica” said on August 29 that Interior Minister Fathi Bashagha had become the most powerful man in Tripoli over the past 14 months.
