On Monday, the Misurata Municipal Council announced three days of mourning for the death of its mayor, Mustafa Karwad, with flags flown at half mast at official institutions inside the municipality.
The council noted through a statement that condolences would be accepted by phone or the official e-mail of the municipality, or via the municipality’s Facebook page, stressing that the date for the municipal council’s elections would take place at the predetermined date in accordance with the recommendation of the late Mayor Karwad.
It is worth noting that the Mayor of Misurata, Mustafa Karwad, had been infected with the Corona virus, which forced to enter one of the municipal isolation centers.
