Sawan: We support peaceful demonstrations, and the citizens hope for serious steps from the government.

The head of the Justice and Construction Party, Mohamed Sawan, affirmed that peaceful protest is a legitimate right, and it is a gain that we must adhere to, preserve, and not be embarrassed by it and be proud of it.

In an interview with “Libya Panorama” channel, Sawan said that what happened in the capital, Tripoli, is a positive point in favor of the government and the Presidential Council, even if it was a criticism of them, adding that citizens were suffering during a year and a half of the war, and they received bombs and missiles every day that made them miss freedom of expression.

Sawan said, when a kind of stability occurr in the country, it is natural for citizens to pay attention to the Corona epidemic and the extent of the government’s readiness for it, the electricity and water crisis and rampant corruption, so we cannot blame the citizen for why he is speaking?

Sawan indicated that the citizens aspire to take serious steps by the government after all these sacrifices and patience, and that the government is not working in a serious way.

It is worth noting that on August 23, the capital, Tripoli, and several Libyan cities witnessed demonstrations in the squares , In protest against the deteriorating living conditions and the high prices.
