Presidential Council: We are concerned about the violations in Sirte and condemn Haftar’s militias stopping the electoral process in Traghin.

The Presidential Council expressed its concern about the violations occurring in the city of Sirte and the assaults, arrests and executions against its residents, similar to what happened in other cities that were controlled by Haftar’s militias.

The presidential Council said in a statement, on Wednesday, that this is not the first time that outlaw militias abuse the truce and the ceasefire in a provocative manner, and treachery in full view of everyone, and no one moves a finger and does not put an end to this arrogance.

The presidential Council called on the international mediators, led by the UN mission, to stand up to these criminal acts, document them and classify them as part of the efforts to abort the democratic process and the peaceful settlement of the Libyan crisis, which may lead to a breach of the ceasefire.

In a related context, the president condemned what happened in the municipality of Traghin, stopping the electoral process there, and attacking polling stations by the same group that rejects democracy and calls for the return of tyranny, according to the statement.

It is worth noting that the Haftar militia killed last Tuesday in Sirte, the citizen Nasser Awaidat Gaddafi, running him over by an armored vehicle in front of his home, and arrested dozens of the city’s residents.
