“Libyan crime Watch”: A protester was killed and 7 others were wounded, after Haftar’s militias cracked down on a demonstration in Sirte.

The Libyan Crime Watch Organization announced, on Wednesday, the killing of citizen “Nasser Gaddafi” and the wounding of 7 others in the city of Sirte, as a result of the use of excessive force and live bullets by Haftar’s militia against demonstrators in the city.

The organization stated, in a statement, that this process occurred as a result of the demonstrations that took place yesterday, indicating that Haftar’s militias had arrested dozens of demonstrators during the demonstration.

The organization condemned the violations and acts of repression against the demonstrators, and considers them a confiscation of public freedoms and an assault on the right to peaceful demonstration, and an infringement of the freedom of opinion and expression guaranteed by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Convention on Civil and Political Rights and the Libyan Constitutional Declaration, according to its statement.

The organization held Haftar responsible for these grave human rights violations and demands that an urgent investigation be opened, the fate of the detainees revealed and their immediate release.

It is worth noting that the Libyan Crime Watch Organization condemned in early August the violations that occur in the cities of Benghazi and Sirte, considering them an assault on public freedoms and civil life.
