The Supreme Council of State calls for reducing the number of the presidential Council and separating the government from it.

On Saturday, the Supreme Council of State called on the members of the House of Representatives to assume their responsibilities and work immediately to complete what was previously agreed between the two chambers regarding reducing the number of members of the Presidency Council and separating the government from it.

The council added, according to its official page, that the reason for calling for the separation of the government is the desire to be able to carry out its duties, calling for the activation of Article 15 of the political agreement regarding sovereign positions.

The Council emphasized that any dialogue or agreement must be in accordance with the Libyan political agreement that organized the dialogue mechanism to be between the elected bodies only.

The council called on the reconciliation government to focus its efforts on solving the citizens’ living problems, especially the electricity problem, the cities cleaning issue, the transportation file from opening airports and maintenance of roads, especially southern roads, and providing fuel for all regions of Libya.

The Council urged the “brotherly” Republic of Egypt to work more practically with Libya to ensure the achievement of the common interests of the two countries, according to the statement

It is worth noting that the Skhirat Agreement in accordance with Article (13) of Appendix (3) stipulated that the Parliament and the Supreme Council of the State agree on any amendment or change achieve the condition of consensus and consultation contained in the political agreement.
