Al-Abdali: Our priorities are to operate the stalled units, and we expect to enter 1,000 megawatts early next year.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Electricity Company, “Weam Al-Abdali,” said, Friday, that the company’s priorities now are to operate the stalled units that have programmed contracts and budget, expecting to provide electrical capacity estimated at 1000 megawatts early next year.

Al-Abdali refuted, in an interview with Arraed, the news circulating through the media about bringing floating power stations from Turkey.

Al-Abdali explained that the number of units in the stations exceeded the recommended operating hours before their maintenance, which led to them working less efficiently than others, as some of them are supposed to produce 150 megawatts , but are currently only producing 105 to 115 megawatts, we cannot ask for more than this so that it does not collapse.

It is worth noting that the electricity network has witnessed more than one black out in the past few weeks due to the forced return of angry citizens to the electrical current after they forcibly entered the generating stations, according to the company.
