Norland in Turkey to support the political dialogue in Libya.

The US ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, discussed in Ankara with senior Turkish officials the efforts to end the conflict and return to political dialogue in Libya under the auspices of the United Nations.

Norland discussed with Turkish officials the necessary steps to achieve a “demilitarized solution” in central Libya, a complete withdrawal of foreign and mercenary forces, enabling the National Oil Corporation to resume its work, and enhancing transparency and economic reforms, according to the embassy’s Facebook page.

Turkish President Rejep Tayyip Erdogan agreed with US President Donald Trump, during a phone call last July, to continue work to ensure lasting stability in Libya.
