The British newspaper, “Metro”, said, Tuesday, that US President Donald Trump was ridiculed on social media because of a “dates” mistake in the history of World War II.
The newspaper added that Trump indicated that the end of World War II in 1945 was due to the Spanish flu pandemic which broke out in 1918.
The newspaper pointed out that Trump had annoyed some historians with this false information, which described the Spanish flu as “a horrific thing.” Because it is estimated to have killed around 50 million people worldwide.
The Secret Service abruptly pulled Trump out of his press conference room, in which he had said these words after shooting near the White House, only to return minutes later, announcing that the authorities had shot an armed person outside the White House and he had been taken to hospital.
It is worth noting that the Spanish flu virus killed about 50 million people a hundred years ago, in a toll that exceeded what was left by the First and Second World War, and it swept the world between September 1918 and April 1919.
