On Wednesday, the Governor of Beirut, Marwan Abboud, expected the total losses resulting from the Beirut bombing to range between 10 and 15 billion dollars.
Abboud said, in statements carried by Reuters, that the figure includes direct and indirect losses related to trade, adding that the quantities of wheat available are limited at the present time, and he expressed his belief that Lebanon may face a crisis unless the international community intervenes.
It is worth noting that the explosion that occurred in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, on Tuesday, killed at least 135 people, left more than 5,000 wounded, and left as many as 250,000 without suitable accommodation.
