An Algerian diplomat calls for international strictness in monitoring the arms embargo on Libya.

On Thursday, Algeria called for more effective international strictness in monitoring the arms embargo on Libya.

Algeria criticized, through its permanent representative to the United Nations, Sofiane Maimouni, during a consultative meeting with countries neighboring Libya and countries concerned with the Libyan crisis, organized by the United Nations Security Council Sanctions Committee on Libya, the Security Council failure to implement its regulations on the banning of entry of weapons into Libya.

Maimouni called for the imposition of sanctions on the countries that violate the arms embargo on Libya, stressing its full implementation.

It is worth noting that Algerian President Abdelmajid Taboun earlier criticized the violation of a number of countries, including those that participated in the Berlin conference, of the weapons embargo on Libya.
