On Monday, Tobruk’s House of Representatives announced its rejection of Haftar’s coup by announcing its support for the initiative of their president, Aqeela Saleh.
A statement issued by 11 representatives said that Saleh’s initiative carries conclusive solutions to the Libyan crisis, represented in forming the executive authority on the basis of the three historical regions, Tripoli, Barqa and Fezzan. According to the statement.
The statement pointed out that Saleh’s initiative includes a mechanism for selecting the presidential council, decisions making in it, and equitable distribution of wealth between the regions, and appointing a committee of experts to prepare a constitution.
It is worth noting that Haftar, who turned against legitimacy, announced on the 28th of last April his coup against the political agreement and the bodies emanating from it, announcing his mandatr to receive authority and ruler of the country.
