The head of the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management and Confronting the Corona Virus Pandemic in Hussein al-Jamal attributed Friday the reason for opening the committee to accept cash and in-kind donations to the absence of the state that has not provided the committee with one dinar yet.
Speaking to Arraed, Al-Jamal said that the committee was overburdened without financial cover, noting that the hotel they had allocated to isolate the medical crews who deal with those suspected of being infected with the Corona virus and those infected with it – was booked with an oral agreement.
Al-Jamal expressed his surprise at the delayed payment of their committee allocations amounting to two million and 600 thousand dinars, stressing that, even if it has arrived , it is not sufficient to meet the needs and the management of the crisis, adding that Misurata has 27 health facilities, most of which have not been maintained for several years, he said.
Al-Jamal confirmed that they received aid provided by the Italian Military Field Hospital in Misurata on Thursday, in coordination with the city’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which included vital signs monitors and personal protection equipment for medical teams, adding that they had handed over the equipment to the Misrata Medical Center.
It is worth noting that the Corona Virus Management and Response Committee in Misurata Municipality was established on March 21, by the decision of the mayor of the Misurata Municipality No. 10 of 2020.
