On Monday, the Libyan army forces took full control of the cities of Sorman, Sabratah, Al-Ajilat and Al-Asa after launching a massive military operation this morning.
The Libyan army spokesman, Colonel Pilot Mohamed Qanunu, confirmed the army’s control of the cities of Sabratah and Sorman, noting that the army forces had seized Emirati armored vehicles, Grad missile vehicles, and 10 tanks and armed vehicles.
Qanunu added that the army forces are continuing their progress according to the plan laid down by the operations room as part of Operation Peace Storm , in response to the Haftar militias bombing of Tripoli neighborhoods.
For his part, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense Salah Al-Namroush told Arraed that the army forces have extended their control over the entire city of Sorman, Sabratah and Al-Ajilat.
Al-Namroush praised, in a statement to Arraed, the uprising of the people of the cities mentioned when entering the army to liberate them from Haftar’s gangs, according to him.
The head of the Military Council of Sabratah , Brigadier Al-Taher Al-Gharabli, assured Arraed that the Haftar militia had escaped infront of the army strikes after its control of Sabratah .
While the spokesperson for Operation Berkane Fury, Mustafa Al-Majai, told Arraed, that the army forces have taken full control of the cities of Sorman, Sabratah and Al-Ajilat, indicating that the air force launched more than 16 strikes on Sabratah , and killed dozens of Haftar militias.
It is worth noting that the Haftar militias have taken control of Sabratah and Sorman since last April after declaring aggression on the capital, Tripoli.
