Italian Foreign Minister Luigi de Mayo expressed on Wednesday, his deep concern about the ceasefire violations in Libya, stressing Italy’s commitment to push the parties towards the restoration and respect of the truce and a return to dialogue.
De Mayo confirmed in a telephone conversation with his German counterparts, “Heiko Maas” and the Austrian “Alexander Schalinberg” that “disrupting oil production for a long time is unacceptable, and causes permanent damage to the economy of the country and the Libyan people,” according to the Italian (Aki) agency .
De Mayo reviewed with Maas and Schallenburg, the situation in Libya and the measures to be taken on the European Union level after the Berlin conference.
It is worth noting that the Italian Prime Minister stressed earlier the inability to end the Libyan crisis through a military solution and his optimism about the results of the Berlin conference aimed at resolving the Libyan crisis.
