Oglu: Hifter refusal to sign the joint statement in Berlin confirming his desire for a military solution.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavoyuzoglu said on Tuesday that Hifter’s refusal to sign a joint statement in Berlin raises doubts about his intentions that so far show he wants a military solution.

Oglu added, via the Turkish NTV channel, that Hifter should comply with calls for a political solution to the conflict in Libya, and take steps to “calm down on the ground.”

Oglu emphasized that support for the United Nations embargo on arms transfers to Libya depends on the ceasefire holding on.

It is worth noting that the final statement of the Berlin Conference stipulated, on Sunday, the commitment of the regional powers to support the arms embargo to Libya, and work to continue the truce, and a ceasefire.
