Salama: The 5 + 5 committee will meet in mid-February in Berlin, and there are no efforts to send peacekeepers.

Ghassan Salama, the UN envoy to Libya, said on Tuesday that the joint military committee tasked with monitoring the truce will meet for the first time in mid-February in Berlin.

Salama added, in a statement to the German newspaper “Die Welt”, that there is no acceptance in Libya of foreign forces, and the international community is not ready to send peacekeepers to it, stressing that there are no endeavors for this purpose, and that there are only cease-fire monitors.

It is worth noting that the European Union confirmed on Monday, at the end of a meeting, that regional and international partners agreed on 55 points at the conclusion of the Berlin Conference on Libya.
