Karmus: By refusing to sign, Hifter ruined his project with his own hands, and the Berlin conference will achieve nothing at present.

Member of the Supreme Council of State Adel Karamous said on Tuesday that Hifter had ruined his project by refusing to sign the cease-fire agreement in Moscow, and he had lost an ally who could change the political and military scales in favor of the reconciliation government.

Karmus added, in a statement to Arreid, that Turkish diplomacy succeeded in introducing Russia into the Libyan crisis directly and openly and with American blessing, noting that this diplomacy embarrassed Russia with the stance of Hifter, who rejects the cease-fire, according to him.

Karmus stressed that the Berlin conference, if not postponed, would not achieve any solution to the crisis, because Hifter’s disapproval of the ceasefire takes us back to a dead end ahead of any political solution.

It is worth noting that the Russian Foreign Ministry announced, on Tuesday, Hifter’s departure from the capital Moscow without signing a ceasefire agreement after he had previously agreed to it.
